Ladies'
Weekend Retreat
Denver United Methodist Church
What a lovely time we had celebrating God's glory!

I gave three interactive presentations. We enjoyed several fun activities and relished excellent meals together!
These beautiful women are enthusiastic about their faith and I feel deeply privileged to have been invited to join them for this special time.

Central Baptist Festival of Tables
What a thrill to speak at the annual "Festival of Tables" event at Central Baptist Church. This is a large, dynamic kick-off to the Christmas season combined with a fundraiser for children in need. This year, they surpassed all previous records. What a joyous celebration! Each table was individually decorated for Christmas with a different theme. It was amazing.
Ladies, you are an inspiration!

Hickory Grove Christmas Party
What a fun group of people! I was honored to speak at the Christmas celebration for the Foster Sunday School class. This is a large class devoted to missions and living out the Great Commission. We explored how many people missed Christmas when Jesus was born, but three groups of people didn't miss Christmas. We zeroed in on what they did differently than the world--important facts that most people aren't aware of--and how that applies to us. We resolved not to miss Jesus this Christmas--the Light of the World AND the Light of Christmas!
This event was a joy!
Present Age Ministries
What an honor it was to participate in a life-changing event with Present Age Ministries. We had a great time with moms and their teenaged daughters, exploring our healthy identities in Christ. We embraced who God says we are, rather than the labels given us by society—and how this changes everything! We delved into the harmful effects of social media and how it can destroy our self-image and value, without our even realizing it. Many left encouraged, strengthened, and equipped.

Nostalgia Hollow
Not long ago, I held my first book signing at Nostalgia Hollow in quaint Kannapolis, North Carolina, close to downtown. This beautiful small business is owned by a lovely Christian family. It's the kind of place where you immediately feel welcome. It was such fun meeting new people and old friends, signing books, and speaking about God's Glory!

The “Big G” Glory of God
Living for God’s glory is not our default. It takes intention. Our default is to live for what’s convenient or comfortable. It’s fighting battles in our own strength, giving into temptations because it’s easy, and acting on our emotions. It’s living for the moment, because we are so very tired. This is what I call living for the “little g” glory of self.
The result: Anxiety and depression take hold—fear and worry consume us. And we are empty inside, but we put on a front so no one knows. Deep down, we are suffering. We lack joy and peace.
But...when we live for the “Big G” Glory of God, everything changes as this Glory has the power to transform our lives. When we're suffering or weary of our struggles…Or even when life is going great…living for God’s Glory makes all the difference! It's a way of seeing life and responding to it with an eye for the eternal. It’s a heart issue.
The benefit: We won’t be empty inside. Our insecurities won’t dominate. Peace will be our companion. Joy will return.
~~~~~
When we get to the end of our lives, our “little g” glory is buried with us. But our “Big G Glory” is eternal and lives on forever—it transcends our lives—and glorifies God.
